Open a Performance Checking 2.0 account. The bonus is paid once you complete both of these inside a SINGLE statement cycle that falls between day 90 and day 180 after opening: at least 20 paid debit card transactions, not counting ATM transactions, and at least one direct deposit. That timing is the trap. Nothing you do in the first 90 days counts, so plan the debit spending for month four or five rather than month one. The $20 monthly maintenance fee is waived with a $2,500 minimum daily balance in a North State Bank checking or savings account, or a combined $10,000 across checking, savings, money market, CD or IRA. The bank requires a direct deposit for this bonus but does not state a minimum amount in the terms we have, so we cannot tell you how much to send. Treat any qualifying direct deposit as the requirement and confirm the amount with the bank before relying on it.
