Before you apply: Chase rules
All issuer rules →
Chase is the strictest major issuer on who it will approve, and the limit counts cards from every bank, not just its own.
The 5/24 ruleChase usually declines you if you have opened five or more personal cards from any bank in the past 24 months.

Chase has never published this rule, but it has held since 2015 and still holds in 2026. The count covers personal cards from every issuer, not only Chase, and it includes cards where you are just an authorized user, because those show on your credit report. Store cards count only if they can be used elsewhere, so a branded Visa or Mastercard counts and a closed-loop store card does not. Auto loans, mortgages and applications that were denied do not count.

Business cards and your 5/24 countbusiness cardsA Chase business card does not raise your 5/24 count, but your count still decides whether you get approved for it.

Chase business cards are generally not reported on your personal credit report, so opening one does not push your number up. The count you already have still gates the approval, which is why people at 4/24 often take the business card first. Most other issuers behave the same way. The known exceptions are Capital One, Discover and TD Bank, whose business cards do report to personal credit and can raise your count.

Roughly two cards per 30 daysUnconfirmedChase tends to approve about two personal cards, or about one business card, in any rolling 30 days.

This is a community pattern rather than a Chase rule, and the data points behind it are not consistent. The usual guidance is at most two new personal Chase cards in a rolling 30-day window, and roughly one business card in that same window, with a personal and a business application close together sometimes counting against each other. Some people report being made to wait longer than 30 days. Use it for spacing applications, not as a promise.

+No Foreign Transaction Fees
+Travel Portal Redemption

Cons

-$695 annual fee
-High $5,000 minimum spend can be hard to hit organically
-Chase 5/24 applies to approval (you'll be denied if over 5/24) — but once approved it does not add to your 5/24 count

Notes

To hit the $5,000 requirement in 3 months, you need about $1,667 per month in organic spend on this card. Route any predictable monthly bills you'd otherwise pay from a debit card — utilities, groceries, gas, streaming subscriptions — through the United Club Business until you've earned the 110,000 United MileagePlus bonus. Because this is a business card, sign-up bonus earnings post separately from personal-card velocity rules at most issuers — so it can run in parallel with a personal SUB chase. Track the SUB cycle in Stacks OS so you can downgrade or cancel before the next AF posts if the card stops earning its keep.

How This Compares

Within Chase's business lineup, the closest comparison is the Chase IHG One Rewards Premier Business (140,000 IHG One Rewards points after $4,000/3mo, $99 AF). The United Club Business is the right pick when you value premium benefits and credits over a no-fee structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the current United Club Business sign-up bonus?

The current bonus is 110,000 United MileagePlus after spending $5,000 on purchases within 3 months of account opening. Offers change often — confirm the live terms on the issuer's page before applying.

What's the United Club Business annual fee?

Does the Chase 5/24 rule apply to this card?

Chase business cards count *against* 5/24 (i.e. they will deny you if you're over 5/24), but they do not *add to* your 5/24 count once approved. So a successful approval here doesn't burn a personal-card slot.

How long does the United Club Business sign-up bonus take to post?

Once you cross the $5,000 spend threshold, the bonus typically posts within 1–2 statement cycles — call it 6–8 weeks from the day you hit the requirement. Track the milestone in Stacks OS Spending so you don't miss the deadline.
